If you are looking at a specific YouTube upload (like the one often numbered "12" in various Schlager collections), you'll likely see her performing in classic 70s glam—lots of hair, glitter, and expressive stage presence.

Released in 1979, the song leans into the disco-pop influence of the era. It’s bouncy, orchestral, and features Sheer’s signature clear, powerful vocals. While the title suggests a somber mood, the melody is actually incredibly catchy and upbeat—making it a staple of German "Evergreens" playlists.

This track is a quintessential slice of German Schlager from the late '70s. "Heut’ Abend hab’ ich Kopfweh" (Tonight I Have a Headache) is playful, tongue-in-cheek take on the classic "not tonight" excuse.

Ireen Sheer, a British-German powerhouse, was at the peak of her fame in 1979, having just come off a successful Eurovision run (representing Luxembourg in '74 and Germany in '78).

It’s a perfect example of the "ZDF-Hitparade" era of television, where performance and personality were just as important as the hook.
