To hide his identity and protect those around him, Jimmy takes the pseudonym Conan Edogawa (inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Rampo) and moves in with Rachel and her bumbling private investigator father, Richard Moore (Kogoro Mouri).
While on a date with his childhood friend Rachel Moore (Ran Mouri) at the Tropical Island amusement park, Jimmy witnesses a gruesome murder that takes place during a roller coaster ride.
