Die Reste der Division zogen sich 1945 nach Ostpreußen zurück. Dort kapitulierten die letzten Einheiten im Mai 1945 gegenüber den sowjetischen Truppen. Zusammenfassung der Einheiten Zur Standardausrüstung gehörten unter anderem: Infanterie-Regimenter 9, 67 und 68 Artillerie-Regiment 23 Pionier-Bataillon 23

Bei Kriegsbeginn war die Division Teil der Heeresreserve der 4. Armee. Sie kämpfte in der Tucheler Heide und stieß über die Weichsel bis nach Bialystock vor.
