Max and Annie are the undisputed monarchs of game night. Their suburban life is a relentless cycle of Pictionary and charades, fueled by a hyper-competitiveness that would be exhausting if it weren't so charming. However, the arrival of Max’s flashy, seemingly more successful brother, Brooks, flips their world upside down.
The night takes a dark, hilariously absurd turn when Max and Annie track Brooks to a seedy bar. Believing they are following clues, Annie playfully threatens the "actors" with a gun she thinks is a prop—until she accidentally shoots Max in the arm.
Brooks invites the group to a rented mansion for a "game night to end all game nights"—a high-stakes murder mystery complete with fake thugs and federal agents. When two masked men burst in and violently kidnap Brooks, the group continues snacking on baked brie, convinced it’s all a brilliantly choreographed performance. The Line Between Play and Reality
