Regina discovers that Snow and Charming are growing magic beans to return to the Enchanted Forest and plans to intervene.

Regina uses magic to give the amnesiac Belle the memories of "Lacey," the person she would have been under the original curse if she hadn't been locked in a dungeon. Unlike the compassionate Belle, Lacey is a hard-drinking "bad girl" who spends her time at the Rabbit Hole and is drawn to darkness.

At David's suggestion, Mr. Gold tries to win her over by being a "good man" during a date at Granny’s. The effort fails when Lacey catches him accidentally spilling tea and realizes he is hiding his true nature.
