A surveillance operator, Becky, watches CCTV that appears to show a completely different version of events: Shaun violently assaulting and kidnapping Hannah after she fails to board the bus.

Shaun is promptly arrested by DI Rachel Carey (Holliday Grainger), a fast-track detective newly assigned to homicide. When Carey shows Shaun the footage, he is horrified and violently insists it is fake, claiming he watched Hannah safely board the bus.

The episode concludes with a search for Hannah Roberts, whose body is missing, and the revelation that the video evidence might be part of a larger, state-sponsored manipulation program known as "Correction" . Key Characters
