Directed by Kurt Neumann (of The Fly fame), the film was partially shot on location at Bass Lake in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains . While it leans into "B-movie" territory with some dated elements, it offers vibrant De Luxe color and plenty of 1950s action—including a memorable Huron attack on the floating raft-fort.
