The debut season focuses on the assembly of the core team. Dick Grayson , having left his role as Batman's sidekick Robin, is a detective in Detroit. He encounters Rachel Roth , a girl with mysterious dark powers. They are joined by Kory Anders (Starfire), an amnesiac alien, and Gar Logan (Beast Boy). The primary conflict involves Rachel’s demonic father, Trigon.
Unlike the animated versions, Titans is known for its "R-rated" approach, featuring graphic violence, mature language, and a dark, desaturated color palette.
The team moves to San Francisco to restart the "Titans" under Dick's leadership. However, the sins of the past return in the form of Deathstroke , a deadly assassin with a personal vendetta against the original Titans (Dick, Donna Troy, Hawk, and Dove). This season introduces Conner Kent (Superboy) and Rose Wilson (Ravager), culminating in Dick Grayson finally embracing his new identity as Nightwing .
